We enjoyed a very successful second international Virtual Reality Symposium in Eindhoven from 27-28th January 2015.

After a very successful symposium in 2014 we organised this symposium at Strijp S, a prize winning urban redevelopment area in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Organised by Fontys University of Applied Sciences, it brought together hundreds of VR experts from many countries.

The two-day programme included keynote speaker Robert van Liere, speakers on the two different themes, and an exhibition area where various companies presented their latest innovations. On the first day, Tuesday January 27th, the theme was Virtual Reality for human aspects. On the second day, Wednesday January 28th, the focus was on technological aspects.

Technological aspects

There is a great scope of developments in the human applications field. More than just visualization techniques, we aim to organize sessions on how one can train professionals, how ergonomics can be tested, how applications can influence the human brain.

Examples are Training, Therapy, Art, Marketing/Sales.
Chairman of this day was Martijn Lamers, who has a Ph.D. in psychology and is lecturer in the human aspects of virtual reality at the Fontys university.

This second day of the symposium, the topic was technology. Examples are product development, machine simulations, visualisations and diagnostics. Also high-end real time 3D visualizations, animations, interaction and  tracking.

Chairman of this day was Nico Kuijpers, Lecturer ICT Software Engineering at Fontys Hogescholen.
