City Enginge

 

City Engine is a tool for the semi automatic generation of static metropolitan content. In this project we made CE available for the Cave, using Vizard. This gives us access to different types of cities. For example, a kind of New York with skyscrapers, or a more Tuscany model.

 

We built an extension to Vizard so that simple collision detection can be applied to the CE-model. The models are in the order of 1.000.000 polynomes. The Fontys sphere in the illustration bounces through the streets of the CE-model. Realised: Optimalization, LOD and Culling.
